Baby Cakes

So we decided to try out Alan and Allison's Christmas present finally--since we're going to move and all in like 3 days. And it was very successful, easy and yummy!

Jabari Parker

This is a fun interview with an up and coming basketball player, Jabari Parker. I read an article about him in a copy of Sports Illustrated at my work and I think he has a great story.

One Year Anniversary

A year has come and gone so quickly and we decided to spend our one year anniversary in our very own backyard--San Francisco. Considering we haven't done the touristy stuff yet in the city we see every day, we decided now was a good time to do it all. First stop--China Town.

The next morning we decided to go to Alcatraz. We heard this place was pretty awesome so we decided to check it out. It was pretty awesome! The audio tour was fun and there was a guest speaker that talked about Al Capone. In addition to enjoying plenty of great views of the city.

Next we went to the Aquarium on Pier 39. Needless to say there were plenty of cool things to look at.

Next we took a tour on the bay from bridge to bridge (Golden Gate Bridge to Bay Bridge). The waves got super choppy when we got closer to the Golden Gate Bridge and the wind was really strong. It was a fun ride and there were only about 9 people on the boat. We also got an audio tour of the various scenic points we passed while on the boat.

We enjoyed the many views of the bay on our adventures. I think we were either on or surrounded by water for most of the day. It was great.

The next morning we decided to be a little more adventurous and bike to the Golden Gate Bridge from Fisherman's Wharf. It had been a long time since either one of us had ridden a bike but we got the hang of it pretty quickly. I think this was one of our favorite things we did on our trip, although at times we were a little out of breath.

We just happened to be in the area during our bike ride so we decided to stop by Ghirardelli Square.

And we also stopped by the Exploratorium on our way back. The place had a lot of science stuff to check out and there must have been 5 elementary schools in attendance as well. We checked out as many of the cool exhibits that we could--that weren't overrun by kids.

We decided to hop on the trolley and go to Union Square and try out these cool little Go-Cars we would see every once in awhile on our way back from work. We wanted to test them out and see what all the hype was about. Imagine 50cc motorcycle with two people in it at a maximum speed of 20-25 mph. Then imagine us in San Francisco traffic. Ya--it was epic. The best was going down Lombard Street with all the tourists. Thank goodness my go-car was equipped with a tiny horn so that we could get through....

Taking the trolley all over the place. We got to hang on on our trip to Union Square but decided to sit inside on our way back to Fisherman's Wharf.

The views were great everywhere we went and the weather was perfect. I haven't seen it this clear in the bay area for this long. I'm sure the fog will kick in soon though.

We went to Pier 39 one last time to enjoy the end of our Friday and to get some food. While we were waiting for our turn to get in, we decided to play Where's Waldo (but with Luke replacing Waldo). Where is he?!? The seafood place we went to, Fog Harbor, was awesome certainly a new and memorable favorite.

We went to a Farmer's Market at The Ferry Building (conveniently located where our ferry was going to take us back home) on Saturday morning and had some nice fruit for breakfast.
