Disneyland

So the last thing we did while Hannah and Meka were down was go to none other than Disneyland!

Of course our first ride was Space Mountain.

This was the first time Meka and Hannah had been to Disneyland and of course we had a good time posing with all of our Disney heroes.

Of course we had to try on all of the great hats they had on display.

All of the rides were great and the wait wasn't too long either.

And Meka was a very great driver on the Indiana Jones ride.

And Rachel was the brave one to ride up front on Splash Mountain.

This is a picture of the three sisters after Splash Mountain

And of course we took some time out of our busy schedule to get a picture with Goofy.

And then a funny picture with this little guy among other Disney characters.

After some ice cream on Main Street we enjoyed a parade. It was actually very good and well worth the wait.

Last time Rachel came to Disneyland the Matterhorn was closed. Well it was closed again on our second time around. Hopefully third times a charm.

After the parade we took a little ride in a submarine and then went on Space Mountain again.

All in all it was a great trip and hopefully a memorable first Disneyland experience for Hannah and Meka.

Hannah and Meka Strike Again

So we made it to San Diego and we are having a great time with family and friends. A couple of Rachel's sisters saw how much fun we were having down here that they decided to visit before school started.

Our first trip was to the San Diego Zoo. Hannah got us all free tickets since she did an interview with a Zoo employee for her work. And it was fun watching all the animals do whatever they do best.

Like reaching really high for things

Or looking really cool in the corner of the cage.

Fooling everyone into thinking its dead when its not.

Stalking unsuspecting visitors for no reason.

Or just relaxing in the wonderful San Diego weather.

We then went over to La Jolla Shores and had a great time at the beach.

It was definitely nice to be able to walk into the ocean and it not feel like I was walking in ice water like it was up north.

The next day we went to Old Town and had a good time at the Mormon Battalion center and some very good Mexican food.

San Francisco Symphony

So we checked off another San Francisco bucket list item by going to the symphony on Friday. We parked a little ways up and followed the road going straight toward City Hall.

And around the corner we found the symphony hall.

We got there a little early so we walked around and found a live jazz group performing in the lobby. It was pretty classy!

Our seats were on the very top of the building, but it also had a balcony that had a great view.

The acoustics were great and the concert consisted of American music (Copland, Gershwin, etc) which was equally cool. There were two encores before intermission and before the concert ended--both Sousa pieces.
